چکیده
Icing and ice accretion cause severe problems in different industrial sectors, e.g., aircrafts, aviation traffic, ships, solar panels, wind turbines. This can lead to enormous economic losses serious safety issues. Surface engineering tackle these by designing surface structures work as icephobic coatings and, this way, act passive anti-icing solutions. In research, slippery liquid-infused porous were fabricated using flame- cold-spraying produce polymer (LDPE PEEK) coatings, impregnated with a silicone lubricant. Microstructural details, properties, wetting behavior, cyclic icing–deicing behavior evaluated via adhesion measurements, which show the potential performance of SLIPS designs. All showed low or medium-low after first icing-deicing cycle best candidate stable even several cycles.

Inhibition of ice nucleation by slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces (SLIPS).
Ice repellent coatings have been studied and keenly sought after for many years, where any advances in the durability of such coatings will result in huge energy savings across many fields. Progress in creating anti-ice and anti-frost surfaces has been particularly rapid since the discovery and development of slippery, liquid infused porous surfaces (SLIPS). Here we use SLIPS-coated differentia...
متن کاملDesigning durable icephobic surfaces.
Ice accretion has a negative impact on critical infrastructure, as well as a range of commercial and residential activities. Icephobic surfaces are defined by an ice adhesion strength τice < 100 kPa. However, the passive removal of ice requires much lower values of τice, such as on airplane wings or power lines (τice < 20 kPa). Such low τice values are scarcely reported, and robust coatings tha...

Anti-icing surfaces have a critical footprint on daily lives of humans ranging from transportation systems and infrastructure to energy systems, but creation of these surfaces for low temperatures remains elusive. Non-wetting surfaces and liquid-infused surfaces have inspired routes for the development of icephobic surfaces. However, high freezing temperature, high ice adhesion strength, and hi...
متن کاملLiquid infused porous surfaces for mineral fouling mitigation.
Prevention of mineral fouling, known as scale, is a long-standing problem in a wide variety of industrial applications, such as oil production, water treatment, and many others. The build-up of inorganic scale such as calcium carbonate on surfaces and facilities is undesirable as it can result in safety risks and associated flow assurance issues. To date the overwhelming amount of research has ...

Formation, adhesion, and accumulation of ice, snow, frost, glaze, rime, or their mixtures can cause severe problems for solar panels, wind turbines, aircrafts, heat pumps, power lines, telecommunication equipment, and submarines. These problems can decrease efficiency in power generation, increase energy consumption, result in mechanical and/or electrical failure, and generate safety hazards. T...
